Vitamin Water

This weekend was the RFL of La Jolla and we found a rare gem in the large coolers up front.
Obviously I was excited that this vitamin water would protect me from gun shots etc., but it really just tastes like watered down grape Kool-Aide. I was disapointed, but I still love the commercial.

I am the new Carmen San Diego

I found out on Thursday at around 2 that I was needed to work on a proposal in South Carolina. I spent the weekend with Chris as he was home, went to the Padres game on Sat. night, drank all the beer they had in downtown San Diego, and left the house the next morning at 6am. My plane to Dallas was a regular sized plane, but the one to South Carolina had about 50 people on it. Sounds like a lot, but not really considering there are usually over 100.

Arriving here wasn't so bad, but people down here are different than what my fast paced personality is used to. First of all, the only place 'in the south' I've ever been is Orlando, Florida and I'm pretty sure that is exempt. Second, I get frustrated with people who take FOREVER to get words out of their mouth...needless to say I'm ready to lose it down here. Only 4 more sleeps then I'm outta here!

The Legend Of The Tramp Stamp

Oh, the good ole tramp stamp, a mistake for many. Erin's boyfriend has a tramp stamp of his initials and we all find it ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. Whenever we are out drinking I make it my personal mission to pull up his shirt as much as possible and expose his body art! I told him last week if he regrets it he should get it covered up and everyone laughed asking 'how the hell do you cover that up' and I replied that he should 'get a big back piece'. Everyone lost it and starting giving scenarios of snake tattoos wrapping around his body to cover it up etc. The best part about me making fun of him for it is that I am COMPLETELY contradicting myself as I am the proud owner of a tramp stamp myself!

Dogs do the darndest things!

Dogs are always falling asleep, laying down, and cuddling in the strangest positions. Sofie's favorite is to lay next to my hip with her face completely tucked under her tummy. It's super cute and very flexible of her. My mom sent me a picture of my sister Maizy sleeping in a silly position last night. I can't wait to go home and visit with her in July. Unfortunately Sofie will not be making the trip with me as I have to travel to VA for work after my trip home and am staying in a non-pet friendly hotel (not my choice). Maizy will be happy though because she hates other dogs, she is pretty bitchy like her mother and sister. Sofie however loves everyone and tries to give her aunt some love, but Maizy is unaccepting...she is a street dog from Puerto Rico through and through! And yes, I am 100% aware that referring to my mothers dog as my sister and my dog as my daughter is lame!

Jim, Oh how I love thee, let me count the ways!

I'm 100% in love with Jim Morrison (minus his love for the 'roin). He is, without a doubt, the most handsome human being to ever walk this earth...at least in this girls opinion. Recently my ipod has been featuring some serious Doors tunes, so I think that's why I realized how attractive he really is. The funny thing is, when Chris and I backpacked Europe we went to Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris to visit his along with many other famous peoples graves. This cemetery is HUGE! They have maps so you can locate the graves easily...but there are over 300,000 people buried there so its no easy feat to find 1 persons grave. I remember seeing Oscar Wilde, Chopin, and Balzac. We followed arrows pointing to "Jims Grave" etc., but never located it. We probably walked by it. According to Wikipedia people arrows pointing you in the wrong direction, so maybe thats why we missed it.

US Open - Torrey Pines

I ended up getting tickets to Sunday's US Open and had more fun than I could've imagined. We got to see Tiger tee off, putt, and chip. More importantly we got to watch about 10 players walk directly in front of us on their way to the 15th hole from the 14th green. Geoff Ogilvy, Rocco Mediate, Lee Westwood, Miguel Jimenez, and many others. The highlight of the day was certainly when Rocco walked by us and I flipped out because of his peace sign belt buckle! How rad is that. Oh ya, and Lee Westwood winked at me when I did my signature 'woohoo' chant.

LBD

I've been helping to organize a bachelorette party in Santa Barbara in the beginning of August. I'm super excited as its a really fantastic friend who is getting married (i'm doing a reading at the wedding) and I love her and her sister (MOH) who i'm planning with. We came up with a theme and some FABULOUS ideas. The theme came about because in my closet I have about 5 Little Black Dresses (LBD) and as i'm getting older I find more uses for them. As a matter of fact, I have one on today at work. Everything about the LBD is versatile and classic, which I surpisingly enjoy. Generally I like funky & fun clothes, but there is just something about an LBD that can't be touched. The theme works out great as one of her fav movies is Breakfast at Tiffany's, which is famous for Holly Golightly's LBD. The ideas are flowing and this will be a party for the books!

Cubans

Somehow, Dan ALWAYS has cubans. This weekend we went to a party at Josie & Kristins and of course, he and Jared were each smoking them on the roof. I think he is a dealer or something...he seems to have an endless supply. Christina also enjoyed one and I was able to get a picture of her when she was inhaling....bad girl!

Annual Golf Tournament

Our annual Team CDM Golf Tournament was yesterday. We raised over $2500 for the American Cancer Society. It was a beautiful day in Escondido and everyone enjoyed themselves. Chris' team won the entire tournament and Chris won the longest drive contest.
I took one drive from the tournament markers (furthest back) and had the best drive on that tee, they were bummed that they couldn't play my ball. If only golf allowed loud voices I'd be great!

Jyoti-Bihanga

Tylers flights got cancelled twice! The poor kid took forever to get to Chico, but finally made it.

One good thing that came out of his having to stay longer was that we got to go to Jyoti-Bihanga. This is a restaurant by people who follow Sri Chinmoy. Regardless of who they follow the food is amazing. Tyler got the Vegan Neatloaf with mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy. We followed it up with vegan chocolate mousse. This is without a doubt Ty's favorite place so I was glad to be able to bring him there.

Vegetarian Japanese Feast

Tyler and I cooked an amazing meal last night. We made Miso soup, Miso/Ginger marinated tofu & veggies wrapped in rice paper, tofu stuffed with rice, and sushi rolls with sunflower sprouts, tofu, and zucchini. Everything was fantastic. Tyler is pretty good with the rice paper and I was surprised at how neat my rolls came out.

My Cubicle

Cubicles pretty much suck any way you spin them. I've re-arranged mine about 45 times and still can't get it to where I'm happy..probably because no matter what I do, I don't have a view outside.

Today I looked around and my stuff was just in disaray. I hate messes and disorganization, but when you have so little space for so much crap it is hard to avoid. Here is a picture of the filing side of my cube before I cleaned it this afternoon. After spending 25 minutes cleaning and organizing it doesn't look much different from where it started. Also, I used clorox wipes on my desk to clean it off and now its sticky......BOOOOOOOOO!

Tyler's Day Has Come

So my little bro is moving out to California. Funny that both Davis children have moved to the longest state in the union. He will be in Chico which is much further than i'd like him to be, but he is still closer than being in Gloucester. He gets in tonight, spends a few nights here, and then flies up there Friday morning. Hopefully we can get his phone squared away, open up a bank account, and get some of the annoying stuff taken care of before he leaves to go up there.

Here is a pic of Tyler crabbing in La Jolla during his visit in March

A Muniz Family Weekend

I went to visit the Munizs this weekend and had a fantastic time. Aside from Joey, Laura, & Josette, Yvette & Ray are living there too. Also, I can't forget all the animals...LuLu, CoCo, GiGi, Max, Paige, and the other cat I've only seen emerge from under the bed once. Saturday we went out for traditional Japanese food and then off shopping to Marukai where I found my Japanese food heaven. You have to be a member to get into the store and it has everything a Japanese person could want for cooking etc. I bought a bunch of little things as well as a pair of wrap pj's that are the cutest thing ever. Also, I got serious Miso paste for some soup. I stocked up on Tofu and other items that Tyler can eat this week when he is visiting.
