So it's halloween. Most people know that Halloween is one of my favorite holiday's, probably because it involves eating candy instead of a turkey or ham.
Last year we went as the crew from Clue. Erin reminded me today of the video I made so I figured i'd post it here. Our costumes tonight are as a group too and are pretty cool. I'll be sure to 1. make a cheesy move and 2. post it here on my blog. But for now enjoy last years video:

A baby blanket
Our good friends the Krugers introduced us to the Peddycords a while back. They are a great couple and are expecting their first child next month. I couldn't resist making something for little Emma and saw some really cute fabric the other day and decided a little blanket would be perfect. I used a thin flannel material. One side has little roses and the other has stripes. I cut out the letters and then used fringe block on them so they wouldn't pull.
I am pretty stoked on how it came out. I dropped it in the mail for them yesterday. I hope their little family can enjoy it because Sofie certainly wanted to when I was taking pictures of it.

Fun Weekend
I had a fabulous weekend!
Friday night we went over to a new friends place, hung out, and watched a surf movie. Liz is an AMAZING photographer..check out here blog here.
Afterwards Arianne, Carly, & I ended up at Pala Casino for much more drinking and shenanigans. It got pretty crazy.
Saturday night Chris and I went with the Ditch's and Moses to Haunted Halloween at Universal Studios. It was easily the scariest night of my life. Crazy men with chain saws, people jumping out from every corner, it was absolute madness. The show was awesome..I couldn't stop laughing. We ended up getting home at 3am!
Sunday the girls came oer and we made halloween costumes. We were able to bang out every ones yesterday, but mine, which I'll do over the next few nights.
On Friday before we went over to Liz's I was able to make a drink coozie..which I think is the cutest. Unfortunately I don't really drink coffee or hot drinks from a paper cup, so I can't really use it, but i'll make a bunch for friends anyway.

Squares
I made my first attempt at sewing a quilt like piece last night. Althought it was tiny it tested my skills of being patient (which I am not) and precise. My downfall is that I HATE to pin anything...so I just didn't do it with this. I did however take the time to press the seams along the way, which was a big help. I'm pretty stoked on how it all came out and now am having issues deciding what to do with it!

My Blue Birds
What I miss about home...
FALL!
I used to love going to Goodale Orchard every fall. Actually, I dont think its even called Goodale anymore, but whatevs. I can remember bringing Hannah there every year once I got my liscence. We'd buy cider donuts, pumpkins, and cider popsicles which were just frozen cider in dixie cups with a stick in them. I loved the days when I could wear a light sweater, jeans, and socks w/Birkies (yeah I did that). Today in SoCal its 80 on the coast and 90 inland... I guess its not that bad!

PUMPKINS
Yesterday we went to Bates Nut Farm...or Nates But Farm as the Krugers call it. The pumpkins were somewhat picked over, but we were able to find two. We got some great spaghetti and butter nut squash. They had HUGE butter nut squash...about 30" long each. For some reason the Chris' camera was on a weird setting so the pictures came out BLUE so I had to turn them into b/w's.

The Weather Is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful
It's finally time for some Buffett! We are going to the show tonight at Kricket aka Coors. Tyler T came through again with a van from his personal driver. Although the original gang isn't going we are still going to try and have a good time. Most importantly I will not be getting kicked out of the show this year for creating my own bathroom located on the back wall of the concert venue. Chris has never seen a full Buffett show because he's had to leave because someone did something stupid, once it was Scott and the last show was me. I promised I won't get the boot...keep your fingers crossed!

The doctor of all things hippie is 30!
Happy Birthday to my fave doctor! A-dawg is 30 years of age today and we celebrated this weekend with a birthday bike bar crawl that was a blast. Everyone who attended had a great time. The toasts at the end were particularly poignant and although A-dawg hates mushy stuff I think it was a great ending to a fun day. And remember "you can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends' nose".

Currently working on......
This week i've been obsessed with perfecting a method of making Scrabble tile charms. I came across them on ETSY and am IN LOVE with them. I'm making A-dog a bracelet for her 30th birthday that has some on it along with a few birds and funky beads. They are the easiest thing to make, hoewve ryou hvae to be patient with waiting for them to dry and as everyone knows patience is not my strong suit. Also, I broke two of Chris' drill bits in the process...oh well.

New Vehicle
We are rocking out with a new...........truck! We bought a Ford Ranger yesterday and dumped the Landrover. I am said to see the Freelander go, but it was DEFINETLEY it's time to retire. The new truck is weird to be in as it reminds me of the first few years of college. I spent many weekends in the red/orange Ranger around UCONN and UMASS. We do have 1 rule though, now that I am part owner of the car I don't ever have to sit in the back!

LoLo is so smart!
Lauren called and left me a message last night with an idea for a halloween costume. She said that Chris & I should be the stars of one of my favorite TV shows..Jon & Kate Plus 8! Obviously I immediately began planning how this could work, would we buy 6 little asian baby dolls to be the sextuplets and then borrow someones kids who has two little asian 8 year olds? It would be pretty hilarious..but Chris would NEVER go for it!

Dee you don't HAVE to take it!
There was an article in the onion this week titled "Members of Twisted Sister Now Willing To Take It" and I totally started cracking up. I am a huge Dee Snider fram from listening to him on the radio while at UCONN. My previous phone had "I wanna rock" as the ringtone and that song is mentioned in the article as well.
"with that in mind, we would like to go on record as saying that, starting right now, we are going to take it"...soooooooooo good!
