New Camera

Chris bought me an AMAZING camera for my birthday. I was totally surprised and elated with my gift. While I took high school photo I'm not too savvy when it comes to these high tech digital cameras. A fab friend (Liz Cockrum) is going to give me a lesson on how to use it...I should probably get a lesson on the software too. I took loaf to dog beach last night and played around a bit with it. Move over frame purse my new bestie is my camera.

Liz

Liz Cockrum is an amazing photographer! Quite a bit of her work is centered around surfing and the women who are passionate about the sport and lifestyle that goes along with it. Her work is very organic. I know her personally so I know she is a fantastic person to boot! Check out her stuff:

Red Nail Polish

I am loving it right now! I pretty much rotate between super brite red or pink or dark dark brown. I'm totally feeling the red right now and it may be my signature summer nail color.

Wild Animal Park

Chris and I went to the Wild Animal Park on Easter and it was fantastic! It was an absolutely beautiful day and being spring all the little babies were out and about. We got to see a baby rhino, cheetah, giraffe, and lots of little baby antelope. I even got to pet some deer. It didn't take long to see most of the park, but it was really interesting. They explained how they were taking skin samples from Rhinos and putting them in their 'frozen zoo'. Essentially they are cryogenically freezing samples of animals in case of extinction with the hopes that the samples will someday help in recreating the animals.. pretty crazy stuff.

I promise to be back

I have been slacking...and Lauren reminds me regularly of this! Starting today I will be back to posting on a daily basis...promise!

Yummy Diner in Santa Monica

We went up to LA to hang out with Tim and Kate this past weekend. Along with the Krugers we stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel which was fabulous. We ran into American Idol contestant Megan Joy at the hotel and introduced ourselves to her. She was very nice and chit chatted with us for a few minutes. After a fun LA night out we went to Rae's for breakfast. Serious dive, old school diner, with the cheapest menu I've ever seen. 6 of us ate breakfast for $36!!! I was lucky enough to not have a hang over, but the kids across from me did. We were squeezed into a tiny booth and it was about 100 degrees. I'm surprised no one got sick.

I am in love with...

.....the Popcorn at Blanca. It's a bit absurd. I went with Erin on Friday and was in heaven when our large sized order came to us at the bar. It tastes so darn good. Here is how its listed on the menu:

Heirloom Wisconsin Black Popcorn -

finely grated parmigiano reggiano

The restaurant is totally chic and features fantastic mixed drinks and food!

Always a good time to be had here!
